Born in 1951 in Poughkeepsie, NY, and now a resident of Sag Harbor, Rizzie
is one of this country's most accomplished collage artists. He has had more than
fifty solo exhibitions at museums and galleries since 1975. Selected collections
include the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and the Museum of Modern Art in New York.
The Dallas Museum of Fine Art and the San Antonio Museum of Art in Texas, and the
Scottsdale Museum of Art in Arizona.
Rizzie's abstract compositions play off of an interest he has in antique
documents. Many of these paper items from old maps and stamps to musical sheets
and legal documents mix well with wax seals and buttons to form intricate designs.
